Thermal power stations firing heavy fuel oil face a chemistry problem in the furnace itself: vanadium and sodium in the fuel form low-melting ash that fouls superheaters, while sulphur products attack the cold end. CHIMI MAG 30 and CHIMI MAG 20, organo-magnesium additives at 30% and 20% active content, are injected continuously into the fuel line to address this. Magnesium chemistry typically converts vanadium compounds into higher-melting ash that normal sootblowing can remove, supporting combustion enhancement and emissions reduction — plant trials on your own fuel remain the deciding evidence. For a base-load HFO unit with high fuel throughput, CHIMI MAG 30 concentrates more active magnesium per litre of additive handled; CHIMI MAG 20 gives finer dose adjustment for smaller boilers, peaking units, or diesel-engine plants. A power-plant buyer should start from the fuel certificate values — vanadium, sodium, and sulphur per delivery — and ask the supplier to propose a dose rate tied to those numbers, an injection and mixing arrangement, and a measurable trial protocol: deposit condition at inspection, sootblowing frequency, and back-end temperatures. Clarify storage logistics (drums or IBCs, 18-month shelf life), dosing-skid materials, and how dosing will track fuel-quality changes between shipments.

CHIMI MAG 30
An organo-magnesium fuel additive is an oil-soluble magnesium compound dosed into heavy fuel oil to control vanadium ash deposits and improve combustion. CHIMI MAG 30 is CHIMI ART's high-concentration grade, with 30% active organo-magnesium based on carboxylic acid chemistry in a high flash point hydrocarbon solvent. Manufactured in Egypt, it enhances combustion, helps reduce emissions, and protects boiler fireside surfaces in power-plant and refinery service.
CHIMI MAG 20
An organo-magnesium fuel additive is an oil-soluble magnesium treatment dosed into heavy fuel oil to prevent vanadium slagging and hot corrosion. CHIMI MAG 20 is CHIMI ART's standard grade, with a minimum 20% active organo-magnesium in the same carboxylic acid, high flash point solvent chemistry as CHIMI MAG 30. It suits units with lighter dosing requirements, supporting cleaner fireside surfaces, better energy recovery, and lower maintenance costs.
