Dosing Guidelines

Dosing of ARTFLOC ECO is application-specific: the optimum depends on the type and concentration of color bodies, the organic load and the other chemicals in the treatment line, so it is established by jar testing followed by plant trials rather than from a standard table. Run a jar-test series at increasing doses on representative effluent, comparing color removal, floc formation, supernatant clarity and residual COD, then confirm the selected dose at full scale. Feed the neat or diluted liquid with a metering pump into a well-mixed injection point ahead of the separation stage. Increase gradually — beyond the optimum, additional polymer stops improving color removal and can raise treatment cost without benefit. CHIMI ART's technical team can support the trial program.

How It Works

ARTFLOC ECO is built on quaternary ammonium groups, which carry a permanent positive charge that does not depend on water pH. This makes the polymer effective across the typical operating range of effluent treatment plants. The charged sites bind strongly to anionic species in the water: dissolved and dispersed dye molecules, colloidal organics and negatively charged suspended solids. With soluble dyes, the polymer forms insoluble polymer-dye complexes that precipitate and are removed with the sludge — the basis of its de-coloring action. With colloids, it works by charge neutralization and patch flocculation, destabilizing particles so they aggregate and settle. By transferring dissolved and colloidal organic matter into a separable solid phase, it also lowers the measured COD of the effluent. It can act as the sole treatment chemical or supplement conventional coagulants in a dual-chemical program.

Usage Tips

Store ARTFLOC ECO in tightly closed original packaging in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight; shelf life is 12 months. Avoid freezing and storage next to strongly anionic products or oxidizers, and keep containers off hot surfaces. Polyethylene and stainless-steel equipment are suitable for storage and dosing. Label and segregate the product clearly within the chemical store. Clean up spills promptly with inert absorbent — wet polymer films make floors dangerously slippery. Use gloves and eye protection when connecting drums or IBCs, and review the safety data sheet before handling.
