Boiler Water Treatment Blend — CHIMI TREAT BWT

A boiler water treatment blend is a multi-component formulation that combines several treatment functions — scale inhibition, oxygen scavenging, sludge conditioning and pH control — in one dosed product. CHIMI TREAT BWT combines a terpolymer scale inhibitor, oxygen scavengers, dispersants and hexametaphosphate in a single amber liquid manufactured by CHIMI ART in Egypt. It controls sludge deposits, regulates boiler-water pH and protects heat-transfer surfaces against scale, simplifying chemical management for industrial steam boilers.

Dosing Guidelines

CHIMI TREAT BWT is dosed continuously into the feedwater line or boiler shell as an all-in-one programme. The correct rate depends on boiler capacity and operating pressure, feedwater hardness and dissolved-oxygen load, and the cycles of concentration being run — there is no universal figure, so the programme is established from a site survey and full water analysis, then refined during commissioning. Day-to-day control relies on routine boiler-water testing — phosphate residual, pH, alkalinity and total dissolved solids — with blowdown adjusted to hold targets. Our technical team designs and monitors site-specific treatment programmes for industrial boiler houses.

How It Works

Each component of the blend addresses a distinct failure mechanism in the boiler. The terpolymer adsorbs onto growing crystals of calcium carbonate and other scale-forming minerals, distorting their growth so they stay dispersed instead of bonding to hot heat-transfer surfaces. The oxygen scavengers consume dissolved oxygen that would otherwise cause pitting corrosion of boiler steel. The dispersants hold precipitated solids and corrosion products as a mobile, non-adherent sludge that can be removed through routine blowdown. Hexametaphosphate sequesters residual calcium and magnesium hardness entering with the feedwater and helps hold boiler-water pH in the mildly alkaline range where steel corrosion is minimised. Acting together, these functions keep heat-transfer surfaces clean and protected with a single, easily managed dosing point.

Usage Tips

Store in closed original containers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; shelf life is 12 months. The blend is alkaline, so wear chemical-resistant gloves and goggles when handling and rinse any splashes immediately with water. Use dedicated metering pumps and calibrated day tanks, and flush dosing lines with clean water after maintenance. Do not mix with other treatment chemicals in the same tank unless compatibility has been confirmed by our technical team. TDS and SDS documents are supplied with every delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What components does CHIMI TREAT BWT contain?

It is a multi-component blend of a terpolymer scale inhibitor, oxygen scavengers, dispersants and hexametaphosphate, formulated so one product covers scale, corrosion, sludge and pH control in industrial steam boilers.

Which boiler problems does an all-in-one treatment control?

Four at once: scale on heat-transfer surfaces, oxygen pitting corrosion, sludge accumulation in drums and headers, and boiler-water pH drift. Combining these functions in one product also removes the risk of misproportioning several separate chemicals.

How is a dosing programme for CHIMI TREAT BWT established?

From a site survey and water analysis covering boiler pressure, feedwater hardness and cycles of concentration. The dose is refined during commissioning and then controlled through routine tests of phosphate residual, pH, alkalinity and TDS.

Can one blended product replace separate boiler chemicals?

For many industrial boilers, yes — a balanced blend simplifies procurement, dosing and control. Very high-pressure or unusual feedwater conditions may still justify a programme of individual chemicals; our technical team advises after reviewing your water analysis.

What are the storage requirements for CHIMI TREAT BWT?

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months. The product is supplied in 200 L drums and 1000 L IBCs with TDS and SDS documentation.
